Westport Boxing & Martial Arts is the only gym of its kind in Connecticut, home to multiple current professional and amateur athletes and world renowned trainers, who are available to members for onsite instruction in a state-of-the-art facility.

This Camp has been years in the making and finally this summer it's here! Our team has developed the ultimate “Junior Fantasy Boxing Boot Camp” for KIDS! The Camp program is designed to build confidence by providing each child with a realistic boxing experience that will emphasize motor skills, coordination, strength, endurance and mental prowess.

Our Boot Camp borrows a few pages from America 's proud Olympians. Completion of this two-week camp will enhance athletic ability, as well as promote sportsmanship and camaraderie. This will be a unique camp experience, second to none, with the athletes feeling like heralded heroes.

In addition to the PFT's (Physical Fitness Tests), skill work and challenges, there will be an Exhibition Tournament where the young athletes will have the opportunity to combine their newly acquired skills with their own personalities by sparring with experienced amateurs. Our “Eye of the Tiger” Tournament will be conducted in a light contact, supervised, safe and well-controlled environment. We accommodate all skill levels!

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES

PHASE 1 – BOOT CAMP CONDITIONING

Monday - Friday
10:00am	Conditioning Boot Camp Run with a real U.S. Marine, calisthenics and physical challenges for the mind and body helping athletes develop confidence, resolve and strong bodies!
11:00am	Shadowboxing Footwork, Ring Generalship, Overall Coordination, Balance & Fluidity, and Accurate Punching are just some of the many benefits from this segment.
12:00pm	Lunch & Boxing Archives Watch footage from some of the all time Greats in boxing history, past and present, while enjoying a complimentary lunch from “Subway of Westport ” !
1:00pm	Bagwork & Drills Learn to use the Heavy Bag, Double-end Bag, Speed Bag, Dummy, Focus Mitts and other dynamic partner-assisted drills.
2:30pm	Depart

PHASE 2 – GOLDEN GLORY

Monday - Friday
10:00am	Flesh & Steel Wind Sprints and Timed Interval running, light weights and increased physical challenges help athletes to develop total control over speed and power.
11:00am	Becoming A Ring Master Experienced Pro and Amateur Boxers help athletes to develop their crafts by mastering the complete science and objective of the sport in some of the most dynamic drills ever invented!
12:00pm	Lunch & Fight Analysis This time, the athletes will team up taking turns “calling” a fight to their peers as Commentators on specially chosen matches.
1:00pm	Freestyle Boxing (Tues. & Thurs.) Freestyling on the bags and drills help the athletes to build their own styles without specific instruction. Sparring (Mon., Wed. & Fri. “Eye of the Tiger Tournament” begins @ 12:30 pm) Athletes will hone and perfect their skills by matching up against experienced amateurs (in a light contact, supervised, safe and well-controlled environment).

FEES AND TERMS

There is limited space for our 2007 Junior Fantasy Boxing Boot Camp. Please reserve your place as soon as possible. Camp sessions are limited to 12 athletes to ensure the quality of the experience and the safety of each participant.

COST
$1,085 Per Athlete (Sibling Discounts)
Cost includes a healthy Subway lunch each day, all necessary training equipment and a DVD recording of each athlete's first/last days, including sparring & tournament performance.

A $500 non-refundable deposit will secure a place at the camp with the balance due two (2) weeks prior to the start of selected camp session.
